For all the whining and belly aching about Mexican illegal immigration, their taking of our jobs and the consuming of our resources, why don’t we just buy the whole damned place? The democrats would have their “path to citizenship”. The republicans would have their cheap labor force. That is, at least until those folks were all absorbed into our “education system” and they were taught how they (as poor dumb schnooks) had actually been enslaved by America’s unbridled imperialism and they should now all become union members and receive prevailing wages. (I can see some now fat Amerimex suing the Federal Government for his/her obesity created by the land purchase and resulting plenty.) The EPA and related environmental groups would have almost twice the land to play in. The ACLU would have a fresh crop of victims to victimize. We would have a much smaller wall to build on our southern border with Guatemala and Belize. Now that I’m thinking about it, I’ll bet we could buy the whole thing all the way down to the Panama Canal. Now that would be a defensible border! We wouldn’t have to deal with political hoops when eliminating drug manufacture’s sites. Just think of all the shovel ready infrastructure jobs that would be immedialtly created. Everyone knows that Central America is falling apart. At least we could feel good for a little while about how nice our roads are. The only downside I see to this is that eventually Canada would want to sell out too. Then we really would have a polar bear problem…Eh?
Remember we are broke..... Maybe we can borrow the money from china and then default on the loans. or maybe they have weapons of mass destruction,oil,terrorist and we can just invade them also. afterwards we can absorb there government because there probably not as corrupt as ours:p second thought why dont we just send the guys from goldman/sachs and aig down there and in six months they would just give us the place.
why don't we just enforce our existing laws, and like I said when I was stationed at camp pendleton (in So.cal) in the early 90's, set up a sixty pit every hundred yards on the border, anyone who makes it across can stay. I will even use my own vacation time to pull some duty.
Why would we want a place where everyone takes a seista for most of the day, is pretty much stoned on tequilla or weed, they don't really want to work except for as long as it takes to get enough money for booze, half the women are hookers pimped by their husbands or boyfriends, and the whole place is a stink hole and broke. We got that already in a lot of cities here in the USA. We'd be better off just putting up the big fence with claymores.
