What venues will you compete in this year? What equipment will you use? I know we have quite a few 3D shooters here, and a small handful of spot shooters as well........with hunting seasons winding down I'm sure a few of you are thinking about competitive shooting again to keep you busy in the offseason. I'll shoot in a local indoor 450 vegas league this year, and will likely compete in 1-2 of the larger indoor shoots in NY. I'd like to shoot at the Guan Ho Ha vegas 450 tournament, and our NFAA State 5 spot tournament as well. I will also be shooting in a local indoor 3D league on Sundays too, and plan to make it to Harrisburg, PA again for the indoor 3D shoot they put on at the Sportmans Challenge. I'm sure I'll catch quite a bit of outdoor 3D when it starts up again in May, but for now I'm only focused on indoor spots and 3D. My spots rig: 08' Constitution - 52lbs - 30 3/8" draw Axcel 2000 - CR "Target" scope - either a 4x or 6x FeatherVision Radura lens Shrewd 30" Carbon Devibe front rod, dual 10" side rods - Doinker Burly bar - 10 degree out/45 degree down Britesite Pro Tuner rest Easton X7 2712's - 4" feathers - 300 grain pro point pins And of course my trusty pair of Just Cuz's My 3D rig: 07' Constitution - 63lbs - 30 1/4" draw Axcel 3000 - CR "3D" scope - 3x Classic lens (the real zeiss lens) Shrewd 30" Carbon Devibe front rod, dual 10" side rods - Doinker Burly bar - 10 degree out/45 degree down Vaportrail Limb Driver GoldTip Pro 22's - 2.12" Flex Fletch shield cuts - 80 grain glue in points Just Cuz's I'm going to try and get my hands on both a Sentinel and Brigadier, and may end up swapping out one of my Constitutions if I really like them, but for now I know I really shoot the Constitution platform well and have confidence in it.
I will be shooting a Sentinel for spots and 3D. I will shoot an indoor 3 or 5 spot league, not sure which one yet. Also, hope to shoot an indoor 3D league. I plan to shoot the Indoor Worlds again this March. I would like to make all 3 legs of the triple crown but with a baby due in May I am not sure if that will fly or not. BowTech Sentinel TT spring steel CJ deadnutz 2 comp Victroy arrows Octane 11.5 inch Stab. I think I will buy a second CJ comp sight as I plan to use different arrows for spots and 3d.
I doubt I will be shooting nearly as much this year as I hoped. With a marriage coming, and feverishly shopping for homes, land, and/or planning a build, I may be busy this winter and spring. Anyways, I hope to shoot some indoor 3D on Sundays. I may enter the Gander Mtn indoor 3D league shoot. I don't know of any place to shoot spots offhand, but I will be purchasing more 3 and 5 spot targets to shoot in the cold this winter to keep me in form. I wanted to purchase a 3D/backup rig, but again, see above explanation as to why funds will be limited. I'll be shooting: Bowtech 101st Airborne 60#, 28.5" (ish) Limbriver CJ Deadnutz 2 Comp Stealth 10" Hunter Stab (may try a b-stinger...it's sure hyped up over on AT) Truball ST-3 27.5" A/C/C 3-49s
i will be shooting a sentinel this year! With victory arrows and a spott hogg sight. I plan on shooting 3d indoor in march, and all the national 3d shoots I can!
I will hit up as many of the local club shoots as possible and shoot my shops indoor popup league (if you have not tried popup, give it a go, it is a blast!). I plan on shooting in a few of the Illinois ASA State qualifiers and make it to Metropolis Il for the Mathews Solo Cam Pro/AM and possibally to London Ky for the LimbSaver Pro/Am. I am also thinking about heading over to Indiana and hitting up a couple of the USBA shoots. I have never shot a USBA event before, but figure it worth looking into.
