    Very well stated Hooker.

If I see a pair of cargo shorts on my golf course, the proud owner is going to be on the receiving end of an intentional power slice in their direction.

You left out casual gym type shorts for lounging around. I don't believe these types of shorts should ever have pockets. Drawstring and elastic band is ok, but leave out the pockets, looks *****.

    Hahahaa.. Justing...way true.

Hooker, you ought come on up here to one of our bowfishin' tourneys. You could offer wardrobe suggestions, if'n you didn't pass out first from our numerous fashion faux pas.

Look.. shorts too long, cut-offs and clearly the guy at the vinyl graphics place has a poor grasp of grammar!

As Superbad do eloquently put it "no one has gotten a hand job in cargo shorts since Nam!"

Combine them w a fresh set of crocs and you have the most foolproof birth control available!

If that were true the State of Kentucky would have a serious population deficiency. :busted:

I don't know what jorts or seersuckers are. Although the word seersucker sounds familiar.

I wear cargo shorts, in plain & camo. I also have non-cargo shorts to wear for nicer occasions.

I have some patterned shorts, one real close to the pair Justin posted.

Hooker, if you are ever in Illinois I will introduce you to my wife's BFF Terry. The guy has been trying to convince me to give up the cargo shorts and that won't happen. I just don't think a gay dude needs to convince me what my shorts should look like.

I'm down with camo and solid cargo's, I also have a couple pairs of jean shorts that are cargo and I wear them just over the knees like JZ. I don't have the plaid, a dude my size in a polo and plaid just doesn't look right.

I'm 42 and been married 18 years. The last thing i'm worried about is what someone thinks of my camo cargo shorts that I wear every where. :D

    1) If you are over 6 ft, 5" inseams are too short.
    Absolutely.
    2) Cargos should not be worn anywhere. Why do you need 15 pockets?
Wrong. Cargos are way in. Straight shorts with regular pockets just look silly.
    3) One solid color. No patterns. (seersucker in the only exception)
Plaid is for golf, some designs are ok. I like Justin's brunch shorts, but most of mine are solid.
    4) Anything past the knee is too long. You look like an idiot.
    5) 7" inseam is the perfect length for most men, unless you are a peon (anything under 5'7").
    6) Never cut offs of any kind. I have a pair of cut off camo, similar pattern to above that are great for all of the things Justin said. Cut off jeans....yeah, OUT.
    7) Jorts...no.
    What are they?

Jorts are jean shorts. None of them are acceptable especially the "carpenter" ones with the extra pockets and hammer holder. Even worse than these are jeans cut into shorts. Both of which are very common in PA, I'm surprised you're not familiar.

    I didn't know Justin was so hip.:D
Light plaid pattern (like Justin showed) cargo round the house or a trip to the store and anything above the knee is just gay in nature. Shorts should hang just over the kneecap

I can order them through work but still can't bring myself to wear them. A few other custodians do and they are so long they look like Capri pants

Agreed on most, but I do love cargos and camo shorts! I have no idea what seersuckers are though! Justin I think any plaid shorts are :dan: looking! Those are for golfers IMO so you will need to wear those weird looking golf shoes that look like they belong in a bowling alley and a visor LOL The look that I DONT want anything to do with :moose: As I type this, I look down! Im wearing Tan 5 pocket cargos that used to have a zipper provision for adding the legs. One had ripped around the leg zippers so I just ripped the leg zippers off both of them :p they are starting to frey! I have others that have bleach spots from adding pool chemicals and getting careless!

Can I add to this thread? White socks or any socks that go 6-8" up the ankle while wearing shorts is just wrong, Its not the 70's man!

    Perfect summer example of Ohio:

Cargo shorts are okay, must be knee length. Plaid/camo is also okay as well. MUST. BE. KNEE. LENGTH.
