Athletic shoes are only to be worn with athletic shorts. Do not wear them with jeans or cloth shorts. That must be a southern Thang !!!! I wear nice tennis shoes with jeans all the time. As far as work shoes, Allen Edmonds all the way !
I would think that a man that wears Allen Edmonds would know that there is no such thing as a "nice" tennis shoe. It just looks silly, IMO.
For the most part I agree. The jeans & sneakers though depends. If you are going somewhere nicer, then wear regular shoes. If its just to the grocery store or someplace that doesn't matter, then sneakers are perfectly fine. I did just wear flip-flops with jeans because I was flying & had to take my shoes off thru security screening.
How about that awkward moment when you hit the urinals and feel a little splash, look down.....you haven't even started yet.
i use work boots or hunting boots all the time it is all i have and thats all i want oh and i do not wear shorts it is jeans or camo pants
Disagree. I'm wearing jeans with gym shoes and a t-shirt right now and I look awesome. When I change into my cargo shorts I will continue to wear them, along with ankle-high socks. Agreed Disagree. See #1 above. Although the majority of the time at work I will sport the jeans with some sort of leather shoe, the gym shoe does make an appearance every now and again. I'm not sure what a leather driving moc is? Khakis get a brown leather shoe of some sort, of which I'm assuming these fall into said category. In public - agreed. Nothing screams WT like socks w/sandals and jorts. Occassionally I will slip my sandals on if I have to run outside or in the yard, and I'm wearing socks. However, noboby sees me but my wife and my dog. Therefore it is okay. Don't own Crocs, but I would agree. In public you just look like an idiot. Boat shoes = Still don't know what driving mocs are. Furthermore, I hate wearing shoes w/o socks. I feel like my feet sweat too much. This is definitely a Southern thing. I wouldn't be caught dead in either. Especially any sort of white leather shoe. Agreed. Wing tips are great. The only boots I own are for hunting. However, I can assure you there's more than a few boys on this here Forum who own themselves some good dress boots. They're good for dancing and stomping *****s.
Hooker Simple answer? Yes. I fail to see the folly in my ways. As for boots; black boots for weddings and funerals, my un-scuffed boots for casual stuff, shiny boots for going out, and my old Justins for working on the farm.
If my combat boots, hiking boots, hunting boots, sneakers, or cockroach killers aren't adequate for the ocassion, I'm not going.
I have more hunting boots than shoes 1 pair tennis shoes 1 pair brown shows 1 pair dress black shows 1 pair work boots
western boots for formal dress shoes for really formal tennis shoes with jeans lace up work boots for working hunting boots for hunting work boots or hunting boots for scouting depending on if I leave from work or leave from home to go scout. gosh it has worked for almost 50 years... I am sure it will work for the next few years until they throw dirt over my face. Tim
Actually a good thread. I aways think it funny to see couples out and the girl looks all made up and the guys looks like he slept in his cloths after putting them on in the dark. Hair and all Feel sorry for the girls. My wife has a BIG thing about guys wearing plastic bathroom slippers or flip flops with really nasty toenails.
Yeah I disagree with this one too. I'll have black sneakers that I'll wear with jeans and looks fine. As far as sandles? I would add ... do not wear MANDLES!!! More of the flip flop variety and not the big things with the giant velcro straps that you look like you're going to a jousting contest in or something. Those things look stupid.
Like I said NYB, it must be a southern thang......I can't see myself wearing anything but tennis shoes when I'm out in the yard working or cutting the grass or doing any other work. I wear tennis, or as some call them athletic shoes, all the time with my jeans, and so do hundreds of thousands of other people. Of course, we have our new fashion director, Hooker, to correct us on all of our faux pas of fashion design and etiquitte!!
