What do we as mature adults think is going to be banned firearms wise in the immediate future? I'm guessing just mag restriction to ten rounds.... Maybe a ban on collapsible stocks. So would this really be that big of a deal? Do you really need 30 rounds in your coyote gun?? 19 rounds in your glock?? Let me hear your arguments.

I'll settle for 14 rounds in my .45

My coyote gun is a single shot.

I think it's all BS! They are looking and pointing at the wrong people on this one. What they need to do is look into doing more for mentally deranged individuals and make the general public aware of the signs. On top if that I believe more security at schools and maybe even restrict violent games and movies a little more. Oh and one last thing, allow prayer back in schools and stand behind the slogan out four fathers created "IN GOD WE TRUST". I'm thinking that would be a good start.

Back to your question though, do I think all of what you described is needed? Nope but, if its ever been made, criminals will find a way to get their hands on it so, I think the general public should be able to own it. Law abiding clean, non violent, non mental illness backgrounds should be able to purchase and own any weapon they choose such as they do now. With exceptions of full auto of course.

It's not so much the restrictions but the fact that the anit gun activists get a foothold on our second amendant rights. They won't stop unless they are challenged every time they try to unarm us. Support your gun right organization of choice who can fight the battles in court. Money is the key to stopping the anti's. This is just the beginning of a renewed effort to unarm law abiding citizens.

Since I am from MA, the gun hater state, I think I have a pretty good idea. I would expect all the regulations that we have here in MA and maybe then some.
10 round magazines (unless you have prebans)
    16 barrel length minimum
non threaded barrel (usually a muzzlebreak is welded on the barrel)
    obviously no full auto
    no bayonet lug or bayonets
Fixed stock (adjustable ones will need to be pinned)
I imagine an extended waiting period
Oh and they're talking about a 1 gun a month regulation
They are also proposing an ammunition tax.

All these regulations suck. As a legal gun owner they do nothing but make my gun less convienient. The muzzle break makes it loud as hell! Fixed stock sucks, I took off my pinned adjustable and just got a skeleton stock from ACE. I have a bunch of 30 round mags (prebans) because when your shooting at the range it's just better. Having a welded on muzzlebreak means I can't easily installl a free floating handguard or change my muzzlebreak to a supressor.

It's not a matter of need. But i see magazine limits coming & hopefully that's it. Any gun restrictions they put in will do nothing to stop these shootings.

Don't need 30 rounds in my coyote gun but need that plus some in a good protection gun. Our right to bare arms wasn't so a bunch of weirdos in white wigs could go hunting. It was so the people of this country could defend ourselves against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Sure, maybe nothing will ever happen...maybe we really are safe against foreign armies. But, what is we arnt? American responsible gun owners are our biggest military. It's always used against us by the anti's, the "why do you need that for hunting" fight. Who cares about hunting? If were taken over, we won't be hunting I promise you that. And, if all we have to protect ourselves is some bolt action hunting rifles, its not to bold to say its possible to be taken over. We may feel we are safe here, and currently we are pretty safe. But if our protection is limited, how safe are we really? I'm sure the Jews trusted their military in Germany also...

And as so stated, why give the anti's momentum? Our founding fathers fought, and many died, to bring us this right. Risked all they had for the right of freedom. And the right to bare arms was so important to them that its second on our list of freedoms. That was only some 230 years ago...we do still need them rights.

Since when are you a mature adult?? ;)

2nd amendment has nothing to do with shooting coyotes.

And so what if the government decides read and store all your email.

Detain you indefinitely without charges or trial.

Stop and search you whenever they want, without needing a reason.

Control the information you can access. Control what you can say. Control the media. Tell you who/what you can worship.

"Posterity! you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom! I hope you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it."

Everyone has already pretty much said everything, the second amendment has nothing to do with hunting and I can't understand why that's the argument everyone goes to. But does limiting how many rounds a firearm holds really make it any safer? No

Evil is evil and it has nothing to do with the second amendment.

Evil will exist no matter how safe we try to make society.

Im already over talking about this crap. Is it spring turkey season yet?

The NY governer (Cuomo) stated this yesterday when discussing his plan of opening discussions around more gun control laws in NY. This statement was specifically directed towards assault weapons, not all guns......but still bad enough and clearly shows what their intent is. Kinda weird, but I'm almost hopeful that I can end up in IL now, if IL passes the CCW permits then it will actually have less laws and restrictions than NY.

    http://www.mediaite.com/online/new-...-gun-control-confiscation-could-be-an-option/

You can read more about the entire thing here..........what's funny is only very few media sources are talking about the confiscation part of his statement. Scary.

The problem with the above quote.. it was said by Adams.. who first placed the constitution into exile before any other president ever did when he created and enforced the Alien and Sedition Act.

Quoting him about preserving the union is fine and all.. but because he was first to push an amendment right away.. it lacks substance because who's to say he didn't do what the current president wants to do.. since he did... but just to another amendment.

Our biggest issue is Mexico. If we ban anything, the Mexican black Market will boom.

I do expect a magazine limit and a ar ban of some sort.

"the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun." -NRA VP. let them restrict mags down to 10 rounds, I only need one shot ;) haha but seriously hitler said it himself the first thing to do when you take down a country is disarm them... i sure hope something like the movie "red dawn" doesnt happen (never seen the move but have heard about it)
