Opening day in VT! Just shot a turkey at 25yds. Fun times. Had about 20 come in. They flew right down into me. Now I need a deer!

Heading out for an afternoon hunt here in WI. Temps are upper 50's with 10-15 mph East wind. Hoping to put down a big doe or a shooter buck(trying to hold out for 4.5 or older no matter on horn size)...looking for a buck with a lot of mass :)

I was in a hang on stand 25ft up, sitting over a clover and brassica food plot with an apple tree and a brook on the edge of the plot. Turkey was a Jake. Turkey was broad side, quartering away. I aimed for the point where the wing attaches to the body and snuck the arrow in right at that point.

Didn't see any deer but it was a wonderful day to be sitting in a tree.

I still haven't been out. My season's looking pretty bleak. Got screwed over by a contractor this summer and am scrambling to get major renovations done before winter. Also, there is all day construction 6 days a week right beside our family farm as the neighbor sold out to a big wind corporation and is having a 575ft wind turbine built 100 yards from my woods. That's not helping my situation either. I'm hoping to be putting in some stand time late season. Hoping

I hear you guys on the business. I'm almost done knocking out all my DIY projects. Going to build a 10x20 shed this weekend and that should be the last of the major jobs. Should be totally freed up by the third week of October just in time for the rut.

Well didn't see a thing this evening except for one doe in the front yard when I pulled in. Don't know if i was winded or just cuz it's warm normals there's always something in that acorn patch

Getting ready to head up to my lease to take my 15yr son out for the youth hunt. Temps are very warm for this time of year in WI..today it is supposed to be around 70 and tomorrow around 80! By next weekend the high is supposed to only be in the low 50's.

Only saw four deer at last light, but how could you ask for a better ending to a day of hunting!

I'm still here...I'm sure you guys have been worried ;) Got out for my first couple of sits over the weekend and saw a couple of does but I'll be getting some more time soon so I'm gonna try and go if the weather permits. I hate burning days when the temps are still in the high 70's so I try and wait til the last week or so of October. Good luck fellas!

We have the first big cold front of the year moving in this weekend. Seeing increased buck movement on my cameras. The rut is almost here...

Will be in a tree this week for sure. Good luck to everyone else headed out.
