I believe with 100% certainty that intelligent alien life either exists or has existed at one time. I struggle with whether or not alien life might exist right now though. When you think of how long the universe has been around, hundreds of billions of years, and how small a time that human life has existed, it is difficult to think that intelligent life exist at the same time as we do. I guess if you believe that their are millions or billions of intelligent species living within the universe, then it might be easier, but life is rare. The conditions have to be perfect, and for millions or billions of planets to have that perfect combination of elements and conditions at the same time seems improbable. Or perhaps there is an alien species in which a thousand years is merely a blink of an eye. Then perhaps we might be sharing an existence with them. It is hard to comprehend that an intelligent species could have thrived for billions of years, and we could have still missed them by billions of years. Just some thoughts on a bored Friday morning.
Do you believe alien life forms need an identical combination of elements and conditons as ours or can other life forms exist in conditions that may kill us but they thrive in?
I believe the conditions have to be somewhat similar. I understand the possibilities could be endless. But I don't think there are multiple exotic elements existing all over other planets. I think the universe has a set of rules.
So, it is all a matter of what a person believes, concerning whether there is intelligent life outside of our own. That's why, IMO, conversations about whether or not aliens exist tend to go the same way as conversations about whether or not god(s) exist. It is all a matter of what you believe.
Other alien life? Definitely. Intelligent life? At this exact time? Possibly. Yes, I also believe the conditions have to be right, similar to here, for intelligent life. Which is extremely rare. But, its hard for most of us to comprehend how big the universe really is and with its size, it could be more possible than we think. You been watching Morgan Freeman on the Science Channel lately?
judging by some of the people that i work with I am not so sure that our life is all that intelligent
Perhaps the human race is an alien experiment? Abandoned colony? Perhaps there is a real Planet of the Apes and they had an experiment or abandoned colony here on earth and we have evolved from alien apes to humans.
i really try not to think about it.... might seem strange. i have a hard enough time trying to figure out how you have a dead stop in traffic on a hwy that has a speed limit of 70mph!!!!!! no really Hook that's my answer. i just stop myself from thinking about those things. i know im small and try to respect the fact that i know nothing and need to be a better person. $hit thats enough!
I've enjoyed the episodes of Through The Wormhole that I've watched. I don't watch much TV, but I'll watch the Science Channel before the Outdoor Channel.
I believe in alien life. I watched a documentary one time on how it is still questionable that Egyptians put rocks on top of the pyramids that would require 14 cranes to do so today. How they found model planes that has the same engineering as the planes used today back in the pyramid days, just how they managed to receive such intelligence. Not to mention the shapes of their heads. There are more planets outside of this universe, that we will never be able to reach or study. I don't think anybody can say with absolute positivity there isn't life on those planets.
I find it hard to believe that we are the only ones "out there." There is also a possibility that bigfoot does indeed exist. :D
