So I just purchased ANOTHER Mathews SQ2 from a pro shop who had one used. It is 70 lb draw with 29 in string. I pulled it back and it feels great! But I bought it for a freind who cannot shoot that so he turned it down and now he says its not right. I drew it back and it doesnt feel right. It feels like the let off isnt right. Hard to explain, but anyone who has shot one knows the distinctive Let off they have as they cam over. It isnt so sudden it comes in but not as distinctive. Just wondering if the let off changes when you crank one down???
Draw Stop? lol no idea. I know its been shot and Ive shot it and it seems fine. I also shoot 29 in and it feels great just like I said it doesnt feel like the let off is the same. I can crank the limbs back up to 70 lbs and it feels fine. does this make sense?
There is a timing line (between two dots) on the bottom cam of the newer Mathews bows that should be parallel with the string. If the cam is out of rotation it doesn't stop against the cable at the correct rotational position, causing what you're describing. Zebra strings and cables are notorious for creep. My guess is that the cables have elongated since new and never been adjusted (twisted) back to factory spec. Get the bow back into factory spec.'s and your problem should go away.
LOL thanks alot!!! Explains everything seein how the previous owner said its the same string on it for 5 years!!!!
