    - I also carry way too much crap into the woods

    - have to disagree w/ the scents...had too many bucks follow my drag lines right to my stands to be coincidence, and scrape drippers flat WORK (just too often they work after shooting hours!)

    - fake antlers/rattling devices suck (for me.) never had a decent buck respond, just little guys. Going to try some sheds this year

I learned hunt cold fronts more and really watch access and exit routes. Also hinge cutting is my best habitat improvement thing I have done so far to my property. Scoot

More scouting before the season starts, patience when I spot a deer. Clear better shooting lanes. Don't hunt in rain. Although it could have been rewarding, six hours walking in circles in the woods, I ended up feeding yotes. I personally don't want to have that feeling again.
And I learned again, that a old doe is smarter than me. I will have her next year, just like I said this year.

I learned two lessons: 1) I am not a fan of mechanical broadheads, and 2) Don't wait too long to track if it is raining.

I learned how to really scout (this was my first year being able to scout and hunt my own property).

I did not hunt a single day in a deer stand... This was my first year bow hunting and every hunt was from the ground. I learned the importance of being patient and how to hunt the wind.

I learned to wait until I have the perfect shot... Dont rush anything.

I learned that on the property that I hunt, more bucks are surviving to maturity than what we once thought.

I also learned that these bucks are extremely good at hiding, and some are extremely sensitive to any pressure.

I learned that you may think you know about most of the bucks on the property that you hunt, but you will never know everything. Some bucks are very good at avoiding cameras and I would've never known they existed if I hadn't seen them with my own eyes.

    I learned:

    1. How strong of a bond I can feel with an animal I'm pursuing
    2. I need to explore more in October
    3. Family is greater than personal success

Speaking of bonds, any sign of your 3 amigos this year during the season? I missed a lot of your season thread.

I learned that I need to scout my new property much better next year. I was very unprepared and didn't set myself up for success.
