LESSON LEARNED: Don't hunt the oak grove in the morning when acorns are falling. The deer didn't even go into the beans and corn next to the oak grove the morning of the 1st. When I headed in at 5:00 AM, all I saw were hundreds of glowing eyes staring at me while I made my way to the stand.

QUESTION: The winds are out of the North at 10 - 15 MPH today and are forecast to stay the same. Are the deer going to stick to the lowlands like turkey do with the wind? I have a stand that bucks have walked by every evening this week and would like to hunt it, but if the winds are going to keep them low, there isn't much sense in it since the stand is on the edge of CRP along the top of the hill.

Just read on another site that up to 15 will not usually affect patterns unless the winds are swirling. Going for the gold tonight! Just got a camcorder but don't have the tree arm yet so I'll just worry about aiming and releasing.
