No changes that have been mentioned bring in Facebook. I like the forums the way they are also, just trying to make them even better. Everything can get better.

I hardly ever click into a subforum. I nearly exclusively use the new posts tab. If it's on there, then it must be worth checking out.

Also, make certain forum members aware of the ignore option.

I agree with Matt on reducing the number of subforums. I always use the "new posts" button but would only ever be looking in bowhunting talk, tech forum, and the watercooler otherwise. Thats all we need.

I do not feel the need for a political forum. Simply more enforcement. If your going to go around spewing the same info and accusations in each and every religious or political thread then your done. Simple.

I think a cool idea, which is almost separate from the forums, is this; Each month their will be nominations or submissions of trophy photos. Users will vote on said photos for a certain predetermined amount of time. The winner gets their mug and trophy as the header for the forum for the month. Like a BH.com calendar.

    I agree.

Yep, they do this on Tacomaworld (new monthly...or weekly, can't remember...member truck in the header of the site) as well as TTORA (monthly rig). Good idea.

That is where I have most commonly seen it, auto forums. In that environment submissions would work. If users submitted their own photos its going to be hard to control. I'll think into the specifics for a bit:lol:

I suggested this in the last thread, but it didnt take much notice.

I think "greening" a comment would be great. In some sports forums I am in if someone has a good post or funny comeback or anything that you think is a great comment, you can "rec" (recommend) it. After 2 "RECS" the entire comment turns green and grabs the attention of other readers and shows some respect for that commentor. It is a great way to make posts stand out when a thread gets to be multiple pages.

I have to say that I like the subforums, but if they were used correctly it would work much better. For example, how often do you see tuning questions posted in the Bowhunting Forum? Or equipment review questions, etc? But on the other hand, its really not a big deal.
