Why are mixing up Biblical truth with the world's perception, Ben??? Look at Dalmer ... raped and ATE young boys ... went to prison and supposedly gave his life to Christ ... that is between him and God .... would you let him babysit your kids if he were still alive and out of prison? If not, where is the forgiveness and mercy .... hello? Did you not read my previous posts where I said I will reserve my judgment until the facts come out? How I recanted my previous statements and even said Matt was **gulp** right?? But know this ... if it turns out that he should have done more ... all his previous good will be blemished by most ... and rightly so .... he will be known as a scumbag in many's eyes .... did he get it right with God (if he needed to) before he died? I don't know ... but like Jeffrey Dalmer ... it is NOT gonna change the way people look at him. As far as holding him more accountable ... not sure where you get that from ... please show me where I have said that he is .... you won't find it ... nothing I hate more than being accused of something that is a fable ... if you remember, I said what punishment I believe should befall the perp... If I allow a molester to continue to molest, I would expect everyone on here to totally forget all the good I've done ... I sure would about anyone else .... and again, this is not a Bible class ....
Speaking of Legendary! Seems this post is reaching that status. I have thought a lot about this and will admit that I was too quick to pick up the pitchfork and lead the charge against what could very well be an innocent man. Shame on me. My deepest apologies. I just felt like JoePa would have had to have a huge blind spot for these actions to have happened so close to him. However, I need to reserve judgement. I pray for his family that he is completely resolved of any wrongdoing. I have never felt like the issue surrounded the single incident, but the fact that there was a pattern of abuse for many years with MANY victims. That just seems like it would be tough to hide. But sadly, some predators are quite skilled at doing just that. No question that Mr. Paterno did some great things. But, so have scores of coaches, pastors, counselors, volunteers, etc, that we usually dismiss with little or no fanfare. I know Little League coaches that have basically dedicated their lives to the youth of our communities that should be Sainted for their efforts. Not that JoePA wanted the attention, but it baffles me why so much emphasis and $$ is thrown towards these collegiate coaches. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. They have suffered unimaginable pain. Nothing a Grand Jury does will ever heal those scars.
Absolutely true. Because college football is a billion dollar industry. It doesn't make these coaches better people, just richer.
