I love that its all about "sportsmanship" and "class". Thats just the way the NBA (David Stern basically) paints it up so it can avoid bankruptcy and bring in a more "family" type atmosphere these days. At the end of the day, its a JOB. And to some, Like Lebron (Kobe, Jordan), it's more then that. Look at Cris Anderson...he violated the NBA's drug policy and got reinstated, isnt that a bigger cause for concern then Lebron leaving the court without shaking hands and doing a press conference? What about Kobe leaving DURING A GAME a couple years ago? (Not exactly valid, but same general idea) All this crap about "class" is a direct result of Ron Artest beating a fan up a few yeas ago. The NBA's image got tanked and it wants it back. And parents should know that Athletes ARE NOT good role models. Dont even get me started on that. If it really bothers people/parents/media that Lebron isnt more "classy" and "sportsmanlike" after games then turn the NBA off and watch college basketball or Hoosiers. Just my 2 cents :d
You guys can have the 5 classiest players in the league. I want 5 that play to win. Baseball players don't shake hands after a game, why should LeBron have to? This is a non story IMO.
Your intelligence is shocking me lately... All this time I thought you were just a dumb IL hick :d :d
If you win like a man,you lose like a man.To honor the game and the competition, you honor your opponent.Bush league in my opinion not to congratulate your rival on a hard fought game.
What If It was your kid who pulled the poor looser stuff? I'd be pissed If my kid pulled that BS, I know she wouldn't do It again!! In my opinion Lebron did wrong but to be honest I could care less. You win some, you loose some. That's life.
It is a job to these guys, not just a game of "sportsmanship" and "competition" like it is for kids. I think you guys are missing that point.
I would bet big money that there have been numerous players(not just Lebron) walking off the court without skaking hands after a game.
The Cavs were knocked out of the playoff and he stormed off the court in a tantrum because they lost while the rest of the players shook hands like gentlemen respecting each other at what they are both trying to achieve! He obviously doesn't have enough respect to do the same... punk ass!
hes young, pissed about losing this opportunity..probably didnt handle it right.. but he will make mistakes just like WE all have and do.. He will learn from it. I have a lot of faith in Lebron, hes a good guy in my book.
Well I can assure you I haven't lost any sleep since this happened I still think it showed a lack of class. I understand what buckeye is saying. It is a job to these guys unlike a kid playing a little league game or something. Still kind of pathetic. He loves the attention and media when he's making his 3/4 court shots in practice. He loves his interviews on 60 minutes. He loves when the media makes him out to be the next Jordan etc..... When you're in the profession he is in, you can't pick and choose when you feel like having the attention. The camera is always on you.... man up! Tiger Woods is the greatest competitor in the history of sports (aside from maybe Jordan). Whether you like golf or not, that's just the fact. You ever see him bail out on an interview? The drag him aside walking off the 18th green after a bad round when he is fuming. He will tell it like it is. Never ever heard him blame the course or anything else besides himself.
