Okay, I've never been too high on the guy... but his recent news has made him my least favorite athlete in all of sports.

"The Decision".... a 1 hour long primetime spot on ESPN which LeBron asked for simply so he can tell the world that he made up his mind on what team to join???? Are you kidding me???

He has an ego where he obviously not only feels that he is above all other NBA players, but he feels that he is above the NBA as an organization. What exactly makes this guy feel that he is worth a full 1 hour of primetime TV just to say "I'm goin to..."

I see it as a marketing move by ESPN and a way to sell some advertising slots.

simple, man... most stars (actors, musicians, athletes, politicians, etc.) are classically narcissistic... nothing more...

    LeBron LOVES him some LeBron.

    All this......and he's won...."what"?

I'll show my disgust by not tuning in, and by not ever watching him play, again.

You can't tell me Derek Fisher is better then Lebron James.

If the "what" is what I think you're eluding to.

Derek Fisher of the Lakers has won 6 NBA Championships. He's good. He's also a role player.

Lebron is obviously not a role player. He's way better.

Because DFish has won more, doesn't make him worth more.

Dan, it is a great move for ESPN...but ESPN didn't ask LeBron if he wanted the time... LeBron sent a request in to ESPN.

True, but how many musicians ask for a 1 hour primetime special to tell the world that they plan on making a new album?

    AMEN!!!!

If the point of sports is for your team to win... then yes... Fisher is better than James. LeBron is a freak when it comes to his natural abilities... but he lacks the heart to win. True champion athletes elevate the rest of their team and refuse to loose.... LeBron seems to care less about winning and more about people knowing who he is.

i agree, they just have 5-6 awards shows every year so that last about 3hrs of primetime on major networks so they can sit there and think the world revolves around them...

I was talking about LeBron. I'm not comparing him to other players.

Now...if you wanna name a few prima-donna, self-absorbed superstars who've never won a championship.....I'll play. If he was a true champion, he'd elevate those around him. They'd go to battle for him (so to speak). I don't see him garnering that kind of respect.

Throw some chalk in the air - put on a crown - do a dance ------------------ lose out in the playoffs. Repeat.

Meh, people are going to watch it, and what else in sports is going on this time of the year.

I want him to go to Miami, so then people will realize that Wade is more talented than BronBron.

My problem is that it isn't tennis... it isn't one person vs. another person. It is a TEAM effort that wins championships.

Yea.. but the fact is that Michael, Magic, and Larry DID win.

The problem is Jeff, that the ratings will be higher for this than whatever else they could find this time of year like it or not.

No argument here, at all. It'd be foolish to do so. That's exactly what is happening - plain as day. lol

And I trust everyone knows he is donating the $ made to Boys and Girls Club.

I understand your points though...certainly excessive.

Does anyone think that he's going to leave the Cavs? I can't see it happening.

    Excessive??? (no offense...lol)

It's the most narcissistic display in sports history. It's even bigger than Brett crying on TV.....repeatedly.

Maybe Bron-Bron will sign one year contracts from now on....and do this every year!

Next, he'll disclose he really wrote 'Purple Rain'!

It's no more excessive than high schoolers holding press conferences to announce their college decision. Actually, it's the exact same thing.

Just more people pay attention to LeBron.
