We recently got offered a lease,it's 118 acres. The owner is asking $1300 for it,is that to much ? or is it a good deal ? How much would you pay to lease this for one year ?
I got on a lease this year the total lease is about 3000 acres, my portion is around 200 acres. And I paid $600.
It doesn't look like it has much huntable area. Do you know the number of acres that's timber? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If this was in the Midwest I would say good luck, but if this is Kansas, well that's what Kansas looks like! I would put boots on the ground and let the sign tell you if it's worth it. $1300 is pretty cheap for a place to hunt with any deer
For perspective most leases here in IL are going anywhere from $20/acre on the very low end to $50/acre on the very high end. High $20's/low $30's seems to be about average. So a 118 acre lease would cost somewhere around $3,500. $1,300 seems very reasonable provided there's some deer in there, which it looks to me like there would be.
Just lease it sight unseen, it'll make for a much better story when you post the kill pics this season
Worth having a look at it with boots on the ground. That's in Reno country correct? That county has three 180" class bucks in the record books. At what, $11/acre if there are deer using it your chances of seeing something good are better than average I'd say.
