the growth has slowed down tremendously compared to those big Midwest bucks!!!! but still....VERY happy with my "secondary spot"!! Its crazy, with the 40 acres of land I own, the most active is the run right on the edge of the woodline near the house, so of course I have a tree stand set up not even 100' from my house!! its only july, but the bigger guy I've been obsessed with has pretty much vanished, only coming around maybe once a week. it sucks his bedding area is off my property...hope to draw him in with a mock scrape and dripper. meanwhile this other guy (8pointer)im gonna have a hard time passing up for my first wall hanger!! I call him "clockwork" because he shows up every single day, same time, uses the same run, like clockwork!! he's my target opening day evening. I have the tree picked out, heck I've already climbed the tree with my climber and set up my 3d target on his run which is 15 yards away@ 22' high, and shot a few rounds. im literally on the edge of my yard in this tree but im hidden very well, and the wind is in my favor. BUT we have to wait and see what next month brings, if his pattern changes once the testosterone starts flowing. ANYWAYS.......heres a few pics!
haha! thanks guys! im going insane over these two already....playing out every possible scenario...if I get the chance at "clockwork" and I take the shot, does that ruin any possible chance of an encounter with the bigger guy? im thinking yes it rules out any chance of seeing him....but man its gonna be tough to pass on clockwork!! BUT if I wait, sometimes he shows up right after clockwork comes through....
Depending on long term if you shoot clockwork he might be more dominate and the bigger guy and biggy might move right in and take his place and give you a chance later on in the season this happened to me on my farm.
Those are some great pics of some great bucks!!! I can only hope to start seeing anything remotely close to those guys on my cam.
