Before I mentioned wanting to build a Mega lower... If finally came in last week and I built it a couple nights ago after the wife and the lil man went to bed.

First off, these are cell phone photos...

Here is how the lower started, not pictured is the Magpul ACS-L butt stock.

    Mega lower
    Mil-spec carbine buffer assembly
Rock River Arms parts kit with two stage national match trigger
    Umbrella Corporation rifle grip
KNS anti walk / rotation pins
    Battle Arms Ambidextrous safety selector
    Magpul enhanced trigger guard
    Magpul ACS-L mil-spec buttstock
Magpul maglevel 30 round magazine with a ranger plate.

The upper started out with an A2 gas block / front sight post and no handguard from Bravo Company. I removed the A2 gas block and added a Troy low profile gas block and Centurion Arms 12" C4 rail.
    Bravo Company bolt carrier group
    Bravo Company gunfighter charging handle.
    Magpul back up iron sights.
    Still haven't purchased an optic.

Nice looking gun Scott. How difficult is it to build one?

That's a bad *** looking set up. I really like the look of the Magpul buttstock.I went with the RRA A2 Operator on my build since in NY we can't have collapsable stocks.

Nice build Scott, I'm thinking about selling off my beloved Colt Anaconda to start a couple of builds.

I had most of the stuff on hand waiting for the Mega lower to come in. You could find all this stuff (minus the lower and bolt carrier group) fairly easily.

I paid retail prices on everything except with the Bolt Carrier group where Bravo Company marked them up $50ish and they donate that extra $50 to the NRA..

    Lower was roughly $586
    Magazine with ranger plate $20
    Upper was roughly $1100

Though you can build a nice AR for roughly half of that.

Dang man you must be starting a militia or something! I'm still waiting for prices to bottom out a little more to finish my budget build.

I sold the other ones. The Rock River uppers and all of the Rock River lowers but one. I have a couple other stripped lowers a Noveske and another Mega... Not sure what I am going to do with them yet.

Nice gun, I went ahead and ordered a 12" quad rail and a Troy gas block last week. Supposed to be here tomorrow and going to finish it. Wish I'd have known I was going to hit a raffle, but splitting the cost among the two takes it under $800 apiece.

Do you use anti-seize on your barrel nut(just automotive type if so?) and also what about loctite on your hand guard?

    Edit, dang auto correct/spell

Nice looking rifle! Have you ever shot the RRA two stage trigger? I sure do love that thing.

I use grease on the barrel nut not loctite. I also do not use loctite on the handguard either.

I have owned two other lowers with the RRA 2 stage and this is the second time I have built with the 2 stage trigger.

Nice setup man, I've got a BCM upper too and been wanting to take off A2 fsp. I've read different places the pins can be a pain to pound out of the BCM but with all the stuff goin on haven't got the block and rail I'm wanting yet.

Just keep in mind they are "taper" pins. They are thicker on one end than the other. Figure out which side is the smaller of the two sides then place your punch on the smaller side and tap out.

They are easy to get out as long as you push the taper pins out the correct direction.
