Hey all, I am fairly new to deer hunting out in Virginia. This is my first season since moving from Minnesota, . I have been hunting since October and have not seen much around on the days that I have been going out. I am going to try hunting area 2 for the last bit of the season. Does anyone have any good pointers? I am thinking that going down by the marsh might be a good idea, but I know there are people on here who have much more experience of hunting at Quantico than I have.
I transfered back in 09, but hunted Quantico quite a bit for 3 years. Try 17B. There is an old cemetary, forget the name. Actually is an old historical site. The remnants of the original county courthouse is also there. I always had great success in the area. Just ask the staff at the check-in shack for the directions to the cemetaryl. Good luck.......
Thank you so much for the information. I plan on heading back there tomorrow! I couldn't get out today because of work oh well. I wish you the best for your holidays!
Gonna PM you, Brett (VA Shadow) and I hunt Quantico...a lot. I am going to try and get out tomorrow afternoon, and Thursday morning...gotta get home early that night, 20th wedding anny and I will catch hell. Friday for sure, again morning...kids will give me hell that night. I will PM you my e-mail addy. Sean
A few factors that will increase your odds of killing a deer in the late season on Quantico.... 1) hunt in the bow only areas 2) Hunt in the afternoon 3) FIND THE FOOD 4) Hunt where others don't
