You should check out the last couple of pages of the Live From the Stand thread. It'll answer your questions. :tu:

Sorry guys...shot an 8 or maybe 9 point around 530. Seems like a single lung hit and i couldn't find him tonight, but ill be out looking in the morning. I'm guessing he's 130 ish, good mass and was a beautiful buck. I'll give a better back story later and of course let you all know when I find him.

Barely slept. Getting some coffee in me, get woke up and get moving. There isn't any water anywhere near where I lost him and this whole area he's in is thick and full of cedar, waste high weeds and golden rod.

You got this Ridge. He is dead. If you can't find him by lunch bring in a dog.

No luck for me this weekend.

Saturday morning I had a flock of turkeys roosted in the tree my stand was in and spooked the entire woods out when I climbed up. Only saw a button buck the rest of the morning.

Saturday evening I had coyotes light up about 150 yards from me and scare every slickhead out of the field. Never saw deer spook to coyotes like these ones did. Usually they just keep going on with their business but these ones beat feet as soon as they heard the coyotes.

Yesterday I wasn't able to get in the tree, but with the heavy winds we had that wasn't a big loss. Hopefully I can sneak out some evening this week but the weather forecast doesn't look promising.

No happy ending guys. That last pool of blood I found was the last I could find and believe me I looked. That blood was fresh so I guess he lived through the night and I bumped him. Wish I had better news. I'm really bummed out and really effin tired.

Yeah dogs are allowed. Problem is I don't have 200 bucks to spare right now. My buddy has a lab that might work but he couldn't get here till dark. Thought my dog would get on a track but apparently thats asking too much, cuz she was no help. Seeing that fresh blood this morning makes me feel like that deer will live, especially given how fast it clotted up. I mean nothing from there.

Unfortunately had that happen more times than I care to think about... It's still early - can't let it define your entire season. Bow hunting isn't easy and the Whitetail is a resilient animal they have a fight and a will to survive. Hopefully he makes it! Either way - keep your head held high - no one tries to miss and wound the deer we love so much. I feel your pain!

Thats the damn truth. It makes me sick to wound one, but I'll be back at it Saturday.

That stinks but hey it happens. I lost a doe this year and thought the shot was solid. It just did not pan out the way I thought it would either. Anyway I am sure you will get another opportunity.
