Saw a total of 5, all does/fawns. So far this year I have yet to see any bucks on my sits. Last year was totally opposite. Saw very few does and a ton of bucks. Hoping that changes real soon here.

It'll happen. I keep telling myself its early but I have this nagging worry that I always get in the early season. Have to keep reminding myself that the best is yet to come. We are off to a good start for sure and it is barely October. High tomorrow is 90 here. Wtf.

I want to go in the morning but I should already be asleep for that. Temps are raising, which sucks. Idk when I’ll be back in the woods. Mornings are better for when I hunt. I keep pacing back and forth in my mind when to go lol.

Temps up here as well... I’m probably not going to be in a stand again until next Wednesday or Thursday. I’m not really interested in battling the temps and I’m keeping the pressure at a minimum this year.

Couple day outfitter hunt coming up Oct 23. And will likely hunt every day from Oct 30-Nov 15. My time will come.

Slow morning so far, haven't seen a thing. Giving it 1 more hour.

I also believe I’m going to be sitting out till the end if next week or so. Temps are not favorable. I already have one down and one tag left for a buck. I may do a doe hunt one evening if I’m bored. Can’t wait for November! Also we find out the gender of our second Oct 27th. So I have that to look forward to also.

Weekend after this is scheduled for a 4 day off stretch and the weather looks great at that time as of now.

Checked on my brassica plot the other day at my buddys place, laid down the nitrogen and watered it all in. Me and my buddy should have recorded the whole process, bc it was hilarious how it all went down. Two inch pump was not cooperating at all.
Plot is not great and we have had no rain at all, so i hope the soaking and the nitrogen kicks it up to 11. One end wasn't bad but overall disappointing so far. I have the cereal rye already as a back up, but hopefully the brassicas improve. Going to hit it with more water tomorrow. 20201005_185134.jpeg 20201005_185121.jpeg

Before I got around to reading your post I was thinking to myself - what he dropped his keys. Couldn't find them but then circled back and found them in his food plot. Incredible...

Then I read your post and I was super disappointed. haha

Ha! I knew there would be a comment on my shameless Ram plug. Of course the Chevy guy is first comment. Hahaha. Hard to go wrong with any of them now days and my dad is a ford man. I drove em all before I bought the Ram in 2014 and close second was the F 150.

I went this evening. It’s always great to pull the card when you leave and find a nice buck, may or may not be a shooter, there chasing a doe 40 minutes before I got there. I got there at 430. I say may or may not simply because I don’t depend on cameras to give me an accurate size of the deer. It’s an 8 pointer I have a lot of pictures of but have not seen yet. He is one of 3 I have not seen but really want to. 4 of the 7 nice bucks have gotten a fair pass on my property.
