Better tuck in that lip before a bird poops on it.

So I threw out a tweet on Friday afternoon about the struggles of getting permission to hunt these days... A friend of mine on Twitter told me to call him on Monday. I've asked about his hunting land in the past but I didn't want to pry for various reasons. Well I called him this afternoon and he's going to take good care of me.

It looks like I will be getting permission on one or two of his properties and I'm pretty excited about it! I don't have specifics yet - it's difficult to find his properties on GIS/Beacon map services because they're all in different names so I can't really get a good idea just yet of what I'm working with.

Checking in guys. Glad to get this show started. I was a captain for last years team so time to pass the torch to someone who can be involved. Hunt in NC. I have a week trip planned to hunt public land in ky this year as well. I hunt camp lejeune now which is loaded with deer but it can be pretty tough hunting getting away from all the people. I deployed in december last year and my workup took most of my time away from hunting. This year it's on though. Here's some deer in and around the stands I have out so far. Bunch of cams out I still have yet to check. Should make for a good year. Screenshot_20200825-112635_Gallery.jpeg Screenshot_20200823-122705_Gallery.jpeg Screenshot_20200822-124919_Gallery.jpeg

Anybody have plans for early season? If I had one in a good feeding pattern I would probably go after it, but I really don't so I think September is gonna be slow for me. Kind of want to pop a doe early. I need back straps!

No real specific plan but I’ll be hunting hard. I have seen a lot of buck activity on my farm in the past early. Will be letting it fly on a doe if she comes by tho. Not holding back.

A member from a few years back is coming out for the first 4 days of season. It's going to be epic and fruitful.

I need to travel tomorrow for work. But Wednesday I'll be heading up the shop to pick up my insert weights. Adding 30 grains and bumping BH 25 grains. Might get a chance to pull cards. Its late but I still need to move 1 stand.

That's awesome. Always cool to have good company on some hunts. Thats the one thing I hate about living out here. All my hunting buddies are in NC still and can't make it out here despite the draw of mid west bucks. Work and family and such. Anyway, enjoy.

I'm keeping a journal of every shooter buck I have. If any one of them have a pretty solid pattern when the opener gets here on September 26th, he just may find himself taking a dirt nap. One of my spots though, you can pretty much guarantee a nice big doe on opening day if you sit there. So one way or another, I plan on punching a tag on opening day. Also on my PA bear hunt I'll have a buck tag. If a decent shooter happens by me, I may be coming home with my first bear ever and my first out of state buck ever.

I also keep a journal but in it I detail what the day is like weather wise and what I see sitting the hunt for all wildlife or crazy stories. I just started last year but it was cool to reread

Hey guys. My name is Logan. I hunt private land in Northern IL and possibly some private land in WI if time allows. I'm happily married with 3 kids. I am a Neonatal Intensive Care nurse and am finishing my last semester of grad school to be a neonatal nurse practitioner. I'll be hunting when I'm not working or in clinicals for school. Looks like we have a great group of guys on the team!

I am in this for the camaraderie and fun (and hopefully put a deer down too). To me, this is a judgment free zone when it comes to deer. I will be just as happy if you shoot a 180 as I will be if you shoot a spike. A deer is a deer and venison tastes great! Shoot what makes you happy and let's have some fun!
