I stopped by the liquor stor on my way home to pick up a 12 pck of Coors Light and Titos.

The old fella next to me had a 30 rack of Naturday Light. Well the clerk ran out to stop me from pulling away because they accidentally charged me for his beer.

I came back in and told that ole feller Merry Christmas! Enjoy those coldies brother... I’ve had too good of a week not to pass it along - it woulda been bad mojo for me not to buy those Nattys for that man. Never bought Natty Light until today - 34 years.

Well guys, I've been hunting on the family farm since 1979. I find new spots every year to move a stand or 2. Although this year is the first year I haven't moved any stands. Last year all my spots seemed pretty damn good so why change a good thing.

Y’all keep at it, they will show up. Especially when we get to November. Let’s go ahead and change the name to Fuhgedduhboudit, what we think?

This little acre slice of heaven is what I just got access to. The pin is where I pit a stand. The yellow line on the left is the property line and a logging road leading from the front of the property all the way to the back...

It’s pretty much straight up hill from the road (top of the photo) to the pin where all the fields aree.

The creek running along the right side of the property was my focus area - entry exit via a creek is simply textbook. A beaver has had his way with this section of the creek but I’m not sure it would matter. It’s over run with dense vegetation and steep embankments. I couldn’t find a concentration area where deer were crossing so I went back to the drawing board. Until I’ve got time to do some off season prep work the creek is out of play.

I’m pretty sure that most of my attention is going to be paid to the top half of the property. The lower half is big woods timber that has been logged and is really hilly - not much to it. I’m sure they travel it but it’s got more of a gun hunt flavor than bow hunt.

Sycamore this looks awesome! So much habitat for them to travel and access!

My wife and I own all the Knight Farms and Deadrick Farm is what I just gained access to. The section of woods on my farm is absolutely littered with acorns. The deer travel the top of that ridge to access fields and bedding. It’s just a non stop travel corridor. There’s a big logging road they love to use for easy travel that goes from the top field to the bottom field of the Deadrick farm. I can’t tell you guys how many deer and even bucks traveling that ridge and road. Especially during the rut.

Nothing planted in my fields cause of cows. Nothing planted on his farm either. Something I want to get into next year since I now have access.

Well boys, I was outside paper tuning my bow. Making sure everything is still in order. No adjustments needed. Everything was right on still.

Come inside and my wife says, “how was it, everything still good?” I say yeah, everything is ready to go. Need to get a few more arrows together. So and so forth. Told her I’ve been thinking about upgrading still in the next year or two. She then replies, “if you kill a bunch of deer this year with your bow why don’t you just get a new Mathews like you’ve been wanting.”

Needless to say if it’s brown it’s down! Lol

Are you guys all sleeping? It's 2:38 am here in Ohio and I'm hard at work. How many of you have a dedicated man cave/taxidermy room. I'm going to take some pics in the morning then I'll get them posted. If you all have a room like that let's see pics of them.
