    I know taxes are certainly not comparable across regions, but I was curious. Those of you who are now landowners (let's say at least 40acres), what kind of tax jump did you make (property of course) moving from a smaller chunk (.5acre to 2acres or so avg residential home) to your new ground?

    California...The good part
    We used to have 50 acres and the taxes in our area are based on overall value with improvements. So I actual pay more now with a tract home on .25 acres.
