OK guys how do you make these more stable I have racheet straps on it still a little movement at the top let me know what you guys do
The quality of the stand and ladder has some to do with it. Also make sure your side stabilizer straps are snug.
Its a good size beach tree someone told me bout making a x out of the straps would make it more stable
Absolutely, you want tie off the two straps about 2/3 of the way up the ladder, crisis-cross the tree and tie off very tightly at about the 6 ft level. After this use the brace bar to set a good tension against the compression of the belly straps. You should also check to see if the staves of the ladder are planted firmly and evenly in the ground. The stand should be square with the tree and clamp down on the ratchet until the tines bite firmly into the tree. A good set up on even a cheap stand (I use a lot of cheap ladder stands) should be rock solid.
Tighten it. I have two ladder stands up and my neighbor has another one up. If yours has two Vs to place against the tree make sure you put a strap on the bottom one first.
We ripped a piece of 2x4 down and wedge it in between the steps and tree for climbing. Use good ratchet straps and tighten them down at the top to secure it.
i use to have the same problem i could not get the rachet strap tight enough to keep the platform tight enough to the tree one day i tried moving the hooks to the center of the platform and then tighten it down it worked great. thats been 5 years ago hadnt had a problem sense
