So I’m looking at getting some lacrosse boots but can’t figure out which pair I need. I’ll be bow hunting all season almost every weekend when it’s 60 degrees, during November when it’s 32 degrees, and even in the winter when it can get in the single digits. I hunt western Kentucky, so my question is should I go with the 400g or the 1000g?
Justin if you would rather go with easy on the insulation, should I go with lacrosse 400g or just the alphaburly pro
Best tip I can give on keeping your feet warm is to make sure the boots don’t fit too snug. You want enough room for air to circulate around your foot.
If you're planning on wearing them later into the season and they're your only boots go with 400's. For me personally I only have uninsulated Alphas these days. When the temps start getting colder I switch to a set of Danner Pronghorns. My feet can't handle the cold and sweat too bad in rubber boots.
Since you want all season use I would skip the insulation and add layers add you need them in the form of insulating socks.
Living in the south like I do. I go with uninsulated and layer for warmth. Hell I won’t have worry about the cold until mid to late December.
Im either gonna go with the Muck Arctic Ice boots or the LaCrosse Arrowheads. Im a very thin person with no meat around my ankles and feet so I need the insulation. Ive been using the Muck Woody Max boots for a while and like them, only reason why I'm looking at new boots is because the mucks I have now are worn out and leak a little, but when it gets between 30-45 degrees my feet are ice. Then I'm miserable.
