Bought these boots about a month ago and had the opportunity to use em this weekend hangin stands and lookin for sheds. Wow! Awesome boot! I got the 7mm and boy are they warm. Thinkin about getting another set for early season so my feet don't sweat so much
I sized up a 1 size and bought the 3.5mm used them through the entire 2013 deer season. My feet never were cold unless it was in the teens and I was in the stand. Hands down the most comfortable boot I have had. At the same time I am going to see how they hold up this year before I jump for joy. Have to get at least 3 seasons out of them which I am not so sure that is going to happen based on what I am seeing so far....
I bought a pair last summer and wore them for the majority of the 2013 season. This is the first pair of rubber boots I have ever owned and I must say I am very impressed. I put some serious miles on them this year and they have held up much better than I expected. Looking forward to next year!
Got some for X-mas and feel in love as well. Best boot I have ever owned hands down, now i just have to find wool socks that are thin!
I have a pair that I love as well, my feet still get a little cold up here in IL. Thinking about trying heated insoles.
I got the Alphaburly Pro's and they are pretty warm even into December here in Wisconsin. And comfortable!
I too own the 3.5 mm and they're a great boot. Very comfortable and plenty warm for early to mid season.
I got a pair last summer as well and they are the best rubber boot I have every owened. Mine are the 7 mm
Is the 3.5mm noticeably cooler for early season hunts? I own a pair of hiking hunting boots but I prefer rubber boots to keep scent down
Lol. I didn't get them until just before my backcountry hunt in Ontario. I put about 75 miles on them in 9 days.
Just the difference in weight alone would lead me to believe the 3.5 MM will be much cooler in warmer temps. I can only speculate being I don't own both pairs yet. However I do have experience with wet suits both in 3.5 and 7mm. Based on this data point I could say with some certainty there would be a noticeable difference.
I have the 3.5 alphaburly sports. For me, they're pretty much worthless below 35*. They're OK up to 65* or so, as long as you don't have too far of a walk in. They will sweat you out any warmer than that. On the plus side, it's like walking in tennis shoes they're so comfortable.
Best boot I have ever owned. I have the 3.5's as well, may invest in the 7mm for the late season this year.
