Wesley, I used to get so worried about every little detail when it came to deer hunting. Nowadays I have so much stuff going on in my life I don't have the time, nor desire, to get stressed over hunting. When deer season starts it takes away so much stress for me that I am grateful. Do not be worried. Let your back heal up and I guarantee your mind will follow. Best of luck.
First of all, get better fast. Nothing worse than a bad back. When your feeling better, and that first chilly morning hits you, youll get motivated real fast!! Best of luck to you in your recovery and your excitement for October 1st!
Once you start seeing those big 'ol bucks while you are running across the midwest on the rails that should get the fire burning again!
I wouldnt worry about it to much. I've been hitting it hard lately but I still have a million things to do! lol
Back pain is the ultimate motivation killer. My back is a mess, three herniated discs pressing on nerves, sometimes I literally can't move. But like others have said, come hunting season you'll find the motivation. Yoga, stretching, and core strengthening exercises help support the back, and are key to preventing further injury. A positive attitude, and simply refusing to let the pain stop you is a must too, because oftentimes doing less makes the pain and stiffness worse. There's nothing like catching a big fish, or shooting a big buck, to take your mind off the pain!
I think I'm the opposite. I have a lack of motivation for work and all of my motivation is around bow season and my cabin. All I want is to be on my property and work on finishing my cabin to prepare for bow season.
Tobacco barns are getting close to start smoking soon, that smell usually gets me pretty fired up. You'll come around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yoga does the body good...imagine all the (fit) ladies in yoga pants. That should be some motivation! Hope your back starts feeling better .
Little update to this thread. Back is starting to feel better finally. Having less and less days where I am in actual pain, and more so just little shots of pain every now and then. Have been getting out and finally doing some work on the lease and around the house trying to stay busy and keep my back loose. My wife is back in nursing school so all of her time goes into that so that leaves me with a long list of honey doos, not fun but it is making me stay busy, so I think that is really helping. Down to going to the Dr, and phys therapy only once a month now. Got dove season opening Monday, that kicks off the start of my fall hunting season, so starting to feel that little shot of anticipation now. Got to start really working on shooting every day and get my muscle memory built back up.
