Last week, during my search for a limited release beer. I was introduced to Kombucha, by a guy I met, that owns a beer store. I was the first and only one in the store that morning. So he asks me if I had ever heard of Kombucha. I said yeah I seen it on that Andrew Zimmerman show once. He asks me if I would like to try some of his own Kombucha that was ready. I'm always open to new things so I said sure why not. He pours me some into a wine glass. It smells of vinegar. The taste was rather good. Like a vinegary tea with a little bit of carbonation. So we go on to talk about it and yada yada. After helping him bottle all his Kombucha and helping him with a few other things. he asks if I would like my own Scoby ( the starter bacteria stuff) to start making my own. Kinda like friendship bread. I said sure why not. So here is my first batch. Takes around 14-21 days depending on how vinegary you like it. Here's the Scoby. Supposed to be very good for immune system, yada yada. We shall see. Anyone else brew Kombucha? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've heard of this but have not tried it....everyone I've talked to who has tried it (only a couple people mind you) said it is nasty....the vinegar taste is what got them ....i would def like to try it some time and form my own opinion but I don't see it being a favorite....good luck making your own dog. ...hopefully it turns out well Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
My buddy makes some every year and swears by it. I found some commercial brand at the grocery store a few weeks back, non alcoholic and few flavors. I tried one. Not bad. Interesting taste and texture. Can't say it would be my go to beverage, but if the health effects are as they say and without worries of improper prep, wouldn't be bad from time to time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I like the stuff. I brew about 2 gallons a week. My wife gets heartburn really bad, and it keeps it in check. Sent down from the heavens using Tapatalk
It's also supposed to help with allergies and help build up your immune system. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
