Who's next..........????........... if I didn't just send Jeff a check for the Mohawk it would be me!!! :d Russ what kind of wax do you use??? I've heard bowling alley wax is good stuff and protects really well. I need to clean up my bows before the season of foul weather starts!
Rob. Your right the pics dont do her any justice. Dave. Thanks mate. The good news is all my build a longs from now on are gonna be on here. I just went to do an update over on the other place, they now have a 4 pic restriction in posts Joe I use Paste wax you can get it at Lowes or Home Depot for about $4 a can. They usually keep it in the paint section.
Rob, that riser is beautiful! The character in the grain...WOW! Just incredible! Russ, your craftmanship is beyond words! You have a gift my friend! Thank you for sharing it with us!
Russ, if you were a preacher, you could make me a believer. I will be talking to you via PM or phone soon.:d You do have the skills my friend. You have the skills.
I have fallowed the process the whole way and all i have to say is that is a such and great job to go from just the bits of wood to a amazing bow. I learned alot and hopefully my dad and i will be making a bow soon.
Keep us informed Isaac on how things go , when you do start to build . I'm sure there are folk on here who would be glad to advise ya .
Bobby. I cuss too much to be a preacher:d Will. Thanks mate and it's my pleasure to share any knowledge I have whether it is bow building, hunting or life experiences. Isaac. Feel free to contact me any time if you get into any difficulities during the build. Dave. I guess that means either me or Kent:d
I think it takes about 2 - 3 weeks for things to make it to Alaska! Good luck with the wait you lucky dog!!!!!!!!!!!
You'll have to try harder than that. One thing living up here does is teach you patience in dealing with shipping. I'll probably see it Wednesday or Thursday. It takes a few days longer coming up than going south.
I got her last night Russ. She arrived safe and sound. It's been pissing rain (and my camera spent a night in a puddle so no photos for now) but I'll get her out and get some shooting in as soon as the weather breaks. She's as gorgeuos as I thought. Nice work my friend!!
Now just what where you doing with the camera:d Yeah mate I must admit I did have a little tear in my eye when I shipped her off, but I will see her again next year at Will's Thank you for letting me make her for you mate.
Good to hear Rob!!! I bet she's gonna look awesome In them surroundings In Alaska!! Can't wait for some pics!!
Long story short on the camera; it got set next to a cup of red wine in the tent and a gale came up that night. The wine didn't stay in the cup and the camera found the same low spot that the wine did... I'm tearing it apart and flushing it with ethanol this afternoon.
Russ, do you have any detailed pictures of those tips? I am about 2 min away from grinding off those old tips on my zipper limbs and want some ideas.
