I am new to bowhunting. I have never done it and want to learn. I recently bought a compound bow from a friend. I want to pick up some books to learn some stuff while i wait for the season to come. Any suggestions?
Plenty of good literature right here on this website - and it's all free! http://www.bowhunting.com/publisher/1/bowhunting-knowledge
Welcome to the forum and the brotherhood. Aside from what Justin said, Mapping Trophy Bucks by Brad Herndon is sometime you should check out. What type of areas are you hunting? Farmland? Big woods?
This. Also I have read some of John Eberhart's books. (Bowhunting Pressured Whitetails and Precision Bowhunting) They are some great books to read. Welcome to the site.
Welcome, you have some good advise already but I will also say most questions and issues have probably been addressed in threads already. Take some time and poke around, there are dozens of very experienced and helpful guys on here.
I really like Mapping Trophy Bucks, I forget the author, but it's a wonderful book! Edit: I think it may be by Brad Herndon?
Ditto to what Bowfreak said. John Eberharts are the best I've read! I'd also second Justin's recommendation of reading up on all the Bowhunting.com has to offer. Great site. Last, I can't help but throw out a shameless plug to check out my own site, WiredToHunt.com, it's one of the largest deer hunting blogs covering deer hunting news, stories and strategies for the next generation of hunters.
