Pretty sure this is a kitty track. Anybody disagree? To bad Furbearers season is over here in missouri. Just missed this guy too. Went to check the cameras this morning, saw some yote tracks so went back to put up another camera about 5pm and this track was near by. See if I can get a pic or two of this cat.
Maybe inch by inch and half. It wasnt huge. there are some yote tracks that were like 2 by 2 out there.
Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri all have mt. lions in them. Fish and game in each state will deny it, but when they show up on trail cameras wearing gps collars it's hard for them to deny the fact. Allegedly they were introduced to control deer populations in these states. I haven't gotten any pics in Woodson county Kansas of a cat, but have seen trail cam photos from one in coffee county straight north.
Thats a bobcat alright...as for mt. lions/cougars, I've seen gamecam pics one guy has been getting pretty steady down in florida so draw your own conclusions but I think they are in the middle areas too.
Actually OK doesn't deny it anymore. They have found several dead in the last few years. It's in our game an fish books now. When I took my wife to get here hunters Ed this year the two that was giving the class told us that a couple weeks before then got called out to one in Adair county. Said they both seen it an had several pics of it.
Bobcat for sure, bobcats have a flat bottom on there print. Dog's / yotes have a indent making them look like a upside down V. Also that print is not that deep ( no weight) coyotes would be much deeper
Same as here in Illinois. We had one (cougar) in our area a few years ago. Myself and about five others caught a glimps of it during archery season. DNR said "no way". But this looks like a bobcat track to me. sent from my electronic carrier pigeon
