This is a very sad story. To throw an official scorer off because he spoke his mind about a buck getting treated badly is beyond disgusting. They need to clean house and the couple of people who rule B&C with an iron fist need to go before they ruin the organization beyond repair.

I agree...not just one, but two scorers were removed because they spoke their mind.

This is one of the worst stories I have read. I have held this rack a couple times and I can see why they would have a hard time deciding what to do, but that is irrelevent a person should be able to say he has a different opinion than the guy who runs the club.

That is absolutely terrible. To treat one of your very best volunteer scorers like that. Imagine if you were a scorer now I would probably quite. If they treated him that way how are they gonna treat everyone else. As for the buck I understand the controversy. I think they need to look at this as a growth opportunity for the organization and find a solution. Maybe something like a vote from all board members and scorers or just some scorers.

Makes me sick eveytime I read about it. Politics in everything these days. The next World Record is out there and you want to be a BUTT about it. Makes me think about the Scripture in the Bible where it says, "You strain at a gnat, but swallow a camel." Matt.23:24 Everyone knows that whoever kills the next World Record Whitetail is going to be an instant Multi-Millionaire. I honestly believe the nuts at B&C want it to come from a Whitetail "Television" Pro and not an average hunter.

I have spoken with Mr. King himself and have held the the rack as well. I feel it should have gone to a panel years ago. The fact of the matter is, Johnny King killed this buck during the gun season in 2006 not far from where I hunt. The story is alot like those back in the good ole days. Killed it with a hand me down gun right before starting a deer drive. Typical WI 2 week gun season. After his drive back from having it officially scored for B&C in Pennsylvania and hearing they wouldnt score it as a typical as it had been scored locally back home. I hear he was upset and decided to sell the rack to a person who could show it to people as Johnny wouldnt. He pulled the non-typical score from B&C records and in the past few years more and more has come forward in this story. The two scorers that were released from B&C was only a matter of time the way they spoke out againced the few leading the B&C club.

I was thinking of doing an video interview with him for bh.com or writing an article. What do you all think?

The interview might be pretty cool. I would love to see an interview with both scorers. Maybe they should take their 50 years plus of measuring experience and create a better scoring organization.

Absolutely ridiculous. You fire one of the best scorers you have and also one that has been with you for 25 years just because his opinion is different than B&C's. You guys(leadership...if you want to call it that) at B&C should be ashamed of yourselves!! You all are a bunch of horse's asses!!!!!

This could all be solved if they would start doing water displacement for scoring.... eliminates all error!

That would be great for scoring but it still wouldn't solve this problem. This is totally a case of peoples judgement regarding that one tine.

As somebody that personally knows Boucher... give the organization the benefit of the doubt. Boucher is a good scorer, it does not make him good for the organization. His outspoken behavior has made this situation more about himself and his opinion than that of the organization and the scoring system which he represents. He may be a volunteer for the organization, but you would be hard pressed to find a knowing party that would consider him a humble volunteer. Outspoken and opinionated members of any organization do not have the organization at heart, and often are pushing their own agenda, may or may not be the case in this situation. I will not go on and on with this, and I will not continue posting on the topic, but just know that B&C may have had plenty of reasoning.
