I have completed my setup on my hunting bow. 29 inch draw/ 60 pounds/ 497 grain easton axis.

I'm slamming my target and OT2 gives me approx 75 KE. I'm wondering if killzone deep six heads are good for me. I wasn't expecting to like a heavy arrow but I can't argue with penetration and sound dampening.[IMG]

I don't know what good for you. Mechanicals are not for me. AND I shoot a heavier arrow. With today's tunable bows, high quality string materials/makers and many quality fixed, made in USA, broadheads, I see no need for a mechanical. FWIW I used mechanicals for maybe 15 years. I killed maybe 12 bucks with Spitfire and 2 with Rage. After looking at the mangled Rage I said no more, to fragile. Then I learned how to tune my bow. Fixed BH and FP hit the same at 40 yards and I'm good.

You should be perfectly fine with the KillZone. Just as with any broadhead stay off the shoulder.

My buddy thought he made a bad shot last year because the arrow bounced off the opposite shoulder made it appear like he got crap for penetration I got a kick out of it because i,saw the deer crash.

I took that as a lesson and try not to hit anywhere around there. Practice practice practice

Don't Axis arrows come with a standard HIT insert and not a Deep Six? I now they make a D6 insert for them, just not sure why you would use them instead of the standard HITs.

In either case a 500 grain arrow is a perfect candidate for a Killzone. It's gonna pack a punch.

Yeah I ordered D6 inserts for some reason. I think I would do different in the future. I'm gonna stick with them though. I'll probably break them throughout hunting and 3D season

^THIS^ I shoot Easton D6 arrows and broadheads as well. The Killzone D6 will do fine for you!
