Nice, Congrats on the doe man. I got out for a few hrs this morn. That heat/humidity was terrible. Ended up seing a doe with fawn and a velvet spike. It was nice to finally get out but I sure hope it cools down a little bit by monday.
Congrats on the doe! And great start for the team! Who else is filming this year? And what's your gear? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well guys, I went down Friday to check my Food Plots and Cameras, and to touch up one Stand. It was quite an interesting day. My first Camera check didn't produce anything exciting, and the first Food Plot is not doing to good. It hasn't grown much since I checked it last. My second Food Plot is looking really good. I have, or should I say I had a Camera on this Plot as I have been getting some really nice Bucks on Camera in this area. I walked through my plot checking it out, admiring my hard work. Lol. When I noticed a Battery laying on the ground about 30 yards from where my Camera is located. I thought, well I must have dropped one at some point this summer. So I pick it up and head towards my Camera. I get to the Camera and I see two more Batteries and my memory card laying on the ground under my camera. I thought' what the hell. I looked at the Camera, which looked ok, but closer inspection, the bottom of the Camera is open, and it's chewed up a little. The Tree was scratched up pretty good around the Camera, and there were some smaller scratches a little lower down the Tree. I put the Memory card in my digital Camera, and checked it out, but I didn't get any pictures of anything attacking my Camera. I'm thinking a Raccoon may have went postal on it. lol. Well after that I checked another Camera in that area and was quite happy with a few of the Bucks that were on it. I have a stand about 10 yards from this camera. I put my lifeline in the Tree and noticed several Trees all rubbed up. I hope atleast one or two of these Bucks stay in the area. Well after putting my lifeline in the Tree, I thought I would look for some Ginseng in the woods. I have found quite a bit over the last few years, in these woods. I went about 20 yards and found a real nice plant, dug up the root, and continued on, about another 30 yards or so and I came across three more real nice plants, and start digging out the first one. Well things went south real quick. It just so happens there was a nest of ground wasps right there as well, and they were not very happy that I was digging next to their nest. I got stung three times before I realized what was going on. LOL. I found out that at 49 I can still move pretty darn good if needed. Needless to say, I was done looking for anymore Ginseng for the day. Well I hope everyone had a better weekend than I did. LOL. Once again, Lastoneout Congrats on the Doe. Next Saturday is the opener in MN. woo hoo.
Some nice looking bucks there Crab! Going to be some cool weather around this weekend. Hope that gets 'em moving for you.
Getting ready for the Oct. 1st opener. Hung a couple cameras on 2 separate properties this weekend. Each camera was placed on field edges. One property had plenty of tracks while the other one had no tracks in the moist ground 3 days after it rained. I'm hoping the deer are hitting acorns in the woods on that property. Also, switched over to practice heads tonight. They are hitting the exact spot as field points out to 60 yds! 23 days...
