Someone posted a cheaper ozonics type device a few weeks ago. I can't find it or I would post it here. If was way cheaper than the ozonics.

That is really cool. It would be awesome to have the red ki letters a red euro mount.

I missed this guy at at 20 yards!! You can't see me in the photo, but I was on the other side of the bushes on the top right corner of the picture. I have never shot at a deer that was so close before. I thought for sure he was dead when I was standing 20 yards away from him getting ready to draw my bow back. Bow hunting is humbling!

    Deer Miss photo.jpg

Here is how it all went down.

I spotted this guy from over a mile away. He was bedded down on a steep hillside. When I got near to where he was at I saw that he was still bedded down, so I walked to the back side of the hill, hiked up, and then hiked around the hill. When I got to about 120 yards, he stood up, which was a good think, because I could not see where he was at through the brush. He quickly laid back down. I took my shoes off and started sneaking toward him. All I could see were his antlers sticking up in the bushes. It was kind of windy, so I decided to try to get within 30 yards. Once I did, there was a bush in my way. I had no shot, so I decided to sneak to 20 yards. When I got to 20 yards, he was till bedded down. I could not see which direction his body was. I was hoping that he would stand up and present a broadside shot. I drew back while he was still bedded down. I started grunting, thinking he would stand up. He didn't. I grunted again. Still he did not move. I looked down for a bush to step on to make some noise thinking that would get him up. Just as I looked back, he got up and bounded directly away from me. All I could see was his back. He turned slightly. It was a bad quartering away angle, but I let the arrow fly. It went just over his shoulders, and the deer was gone.

Here is a video of it all going down:

You cant see me in the video, but you can see how the deer went from lying down to going away from where I was at in a split second. Video was taken from my father-in-law's Vortex spotting scope, using a phone scope mount and an iPhone.

That would have been cool to get to within 20 yds, kill the deer and get it on video from that distance. Sorry man! Good luck with your next one!

I like that design for the avatar if we could get a red skull within it like mentioned before. Very cool!

I'm sooo pumped. Season opens this Monday but I know the big guys won't show up till nov. I want to leave the does alone till the rut but it will be hard. I basically hunt my back yard so I see them all the time. I've got all kinds of plots but I have never seen a big buck in them. There's a lot of bush around here. It's like Christmas during the rut, you never know what you'll get.
