I will be out tomorrow. They are starting to move during the day. I am a state trooper and I have investigated 3 crashes the past day and a half. Car vs BUCKS. THE CAR HAS WON ALL 3 Cases.. Next few days are to get cold here / SNOW maybe friday and saturday. Im off both days
Vacation starts in 7 days. 11 days off!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention the 31 and the 1st. I can feel it coming. A deer or two is going to hit the dirt soon.
Hunted last evening after work. Thought it was going to be a great hunt with the cold front that came thru mixed with rising moon. Saw nothing. Dad was observing from a distance a small property we hunt also and saw nothing. Kinda weird 'cause like Mudshark said I have been seeing bucks on their feet also during the day as I drive all day (home health occupational therapist). Everything now mostly packed up for trip back to West Central IL this coming Saturday. Just gotta get thru the next 3 days of work mixed with taking the kiddos trick or treating on Friday night.
I've been driving around for work all week and haven't seen a thing. There's been does in my front field/yard tho. It's gotten a bit colder here 28f but suppose to be 19f next week. I'm suppose to take the whole week off next week but the long range forecast for the week following next is 10f. Going to pull cards tomorrow and make up my mind. I pulled a card and saw a real nice 8 pt at a scrape . He was at the scrape at 1130 pm.last night. I didnt see him this morning. I did have a deer in the dark at 25 yards. I could hear her, I couldn't see her. I put the bino's up in the area I could hear her. I saw her thru the bino's . She didnt stay around long. GETTING CLOSER. I can feel it is going to happen soon.
It's 9f this morning. Brrrr. Just sipping a coffee getting ready for the hunt. This is the first day of my week long hunt. I pulled my cam cards 2 days ago and the big buck I've been following is nowhere to be found. I've been bummed about it but there's other deer around. I had a yearling yesturday, just dont want to waste a tag on a little doe fawn. I want alot of meat . My freezer is empty of deer meet. There has been a 10 pt seen in the woods where I am hunting. Another hunter shaved his back three days ago, this was about 400yards from me. A hugh rub has showed up near my stand three days ago. Conveinent??????
