Nice story on your hunt Lastoneout, congrats again. You really took advantage of your short season. I hope your stay in Parris Island is a pleasant one. Watch out for the sand fleas. (LOL) I was a "Hollywood Marine" MCRD San Diego back in 84. Thank you for your service. Semper Fi
I want to shoot something. I could of shot a doe last night but I want to keep them around for the rut. There's a big guy around but he hasn't showed up when I'm there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Fre
Less then a week to go here in ohio. Weather is going to be hot and dry but hopefully cooling down after the first week or so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
8 days. Finally got a buck on camera. An older 6 pointer that I am going to try to take if I get the chance. Hope to check my other 3 cameras that are on 2 separate properties this coming weekend, if possible. One landowner posted a pic on FB of 4 deer out on the property. I have hunted there for 10+ years and have never seen 4 deer in an entire day. I hope that is a good sign. Best hunting for me will be in a month when I hit some Southern IL public ground. I will be more selective there...
Back from vacation. Ready to get in the woods. 8 more days to wait. Congrats to Lastoneout on getting both deer.
I missed this guy at at 20 yards!! You can't see me in the photo, but I was on the other side of the bushes on the top right corner of the picture. I have never shot at a deer that was so close before. I thought for sure he was dead when I was standing 20 yards away from him getting ready to draw my bow back. Bow hunting is humbling!
Back pack is ready / climbing tree stand is ready/ the bow and broadheads are ready/ i must wait still!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice job Ben! I'm hoping to get out for the first time next weekend. The weather is suppose to cool down here this week. It was in the 80's here this weekend. I just can't get into it when it's this warm. Good luck to the guys on the Team from Illinois that will be out on Wednesday.
I'm hoping to get out Wed evening. I have one little property that AMs are better, but not sure I will be able to make it out there before work... For Wed evening I'm planning on hitting another small property (10 ac), but it has a nice little marsh that bucks love to bed along before the leaves fall and the crops are picked. Now, just gotta get out of work early enough to sneak into the stand. Like you, if it is too warm I am gonna skip hunting until it cools off more. Good luck!
I think with the weather forecast, I am gonna wait till friday to start my season. Too warm to do much good before then, and a front is supposed to be moving through
