I hunted from thursday through Sunday at the new place in east Texas and never saw a deer. There was a ton of activity going on the whole time I was there. Guys were setting stands and building box blinds, as well as putting up and filling feeders all weekend. I understand some of it since Hurricane Ike destroyed a bunch of stuff out there, BUT, I was told all activity except hunting would come to a stop once the season opened. When I asked the camp manager about it he told me that means GENERAL season, not bow season. No respect for the few bowhunters in camp.
Any way the hog is a small but tasty one. I hit 2 hogs with one arrow but only recovered one. It was the second of the two. I hit the first high and got a passthrough above the spine. The second pig was hit in the left ham and the 2 blade Rage penetrated until it hit hambone. It severed the femoral artery and the pig bled out in 25 yards. ray Charles could have followed that bloodtrail! 78 pounds on the camp scale. ( I think the scale is off, it felt more like 50 to me).
