My generation is much worse about that particular issue than my parents... At least in Kentucky and Alabama.
The Baby Boomers were the ones that created or passed all the liabilities that are crippling the US right now.
I think entitlement gets worse under a government that keeps brainwashing people to believe they are a victim of something and can't accomplish anything on their own and in turn things get better when government enforces personal responsibility and tosses the Crony capitalism nonsense.
I have a daughter in college. Her generation (not her) wanted Obama reelected so he would pay for their college and healthcare. This is the mentality of our youth today, sad as it is. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
claiming that Facebook is equal to face-to-face friendship is the same as saying a video hunting game is the same as actually hunting.
College? College grants have been around a long time before Obama. Ok, so Healthcare is 1 thing. And let's not act like it was young people that voted Obama in. Young people do not vote in high numbers. What about all the other entitlements that have been around for the last 50 years? Guess who created those?
These kids were under the impression he would get tuition waved for them.(this is what they want for all) This was the kinds of things my daughter was hearing during the debates. Floored me. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
It's the progression we're talking about. It's getting worse, not better. Atleast that's what I'm talking about. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
And? Each generation takes it further. This one is as well. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
We shall see. Libertarianism is making huge movements in youth today, so hopefully we can correct all of you old guys mistakes. Entitled bastards.
Hopefully they have/are learning from the fiasco known as obamacare. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
Then you're obviously not using Facebook correctly. Instead of talking to my 10 - 12 friends that live close to me, I communicate with 200 others that I would normally have no idea where they are or what they are doing right now. These are friends that I've known over the years and before Facebook, have lost touch with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I agree that it is making it's way back in the spotlight but we also had occupy wall street. Majority were this generation of scrotes who have no business stealing my air.
Just because one group starts a problem doesn't mean the next group won't come along and make that problem even worse... Exhibit A) George W and some of the financial holes he put us in being followed by "Change" in which all we did was make those holes seem minuscule in comparison to our financial woes now. Change isn't always for the better. So while I agree entitlements started with our parents generation.... I strongly feel my peers mindsets will take them even further when we are of the age to be making the decisions for our country.
And what's wrong with phone calls? Visiting? I'm not saying it's not useful, but in no way should we think that it's suitable to replace the real thing. When I was deployed recently, I was able to FaceTime. It was great--better than waiting in long lines for a short, fuzzy sounding phone call. That doesn't mean that the communication isn't good, but by no means should I consider it equal to being in person. Facebook is easy. Email is easy. Text is easy. But we shouldn't get complacent in our communication skills in person.
