We are looking at smaller SUVs/Crossovers to go with our Tundra, and being I am a Toyota fan, I am leaning towards some of the smaller Toyota SUVs. My wife loves the looks of the KIA SUVs (looks is where her knowledge of them ends). I started researching them a bit and they actually have very good customer reviews and about the best warranty in the industry. I just dont know if I could stomache saying "I drive a Kia." Anyone have experience with them?
One of the guys I work with got one for his wife. They love it! Great mpg and really good customer service. Alot of them are built in the US now too.
My mom just got a 2010 or 2011 Kia Sorento that she likes a lot. I've driven it a few times and don't like the accelerator response due to it being a 4-cylinder, but I guess that's why it gets such good gas mileage. My dad has a Kia Spectra that he uses as his to and from work car primarily that he's had for several years now and he's never had any problems with it. We counter the kia with a Dodge, a Chevy, and a Ford though, so we still feel alright
My sister just bought a 2010 Sorento, and she seems to like it. I'm not up on them very much, so I can't comment on long term dependability one way or another.
No experience with Kia here...once I owned a Suburban - there's no convincing me otherwise...worth every penny and the gas they use...IMO. But I have heard good things about Kia and the new dealership in town is selling them like crazy!
We own a 2008 Sorento for my wife and I have been very happy with it. We bought it used and it is still under warrantee. Customer service has always been great. They have fixed the few little things that have gone wrong. I think the warrantee is like 5 years or 60,000 miles "bumper to bumper" and it goes with the vehicle. So even though we didn't buy it new from the dealer they still take care of everything.
We have a 2002 KIA Sedona - had a few bumps at first with the AC, but once that was done most of the issues were minor. Had a drive shaft bearing crap out - was still under warranty. At just about 10 years old - its beat on a bit, has survived two kids 8 and 11 and was a good purchase in my opinion. I would buy and may buy another again.
I've got a kia optima '03 that we use as a commuter car 100+miles a day. I've got a 105K+ and all I've done is replace the timing belt (kia parts are expensive) and I've got an o2 sensor out right now but runs like a top. I bought the car as a theft recovery for $3k 2 years ago with 40K miles and I love it. Would/will buy another one if this one ever wears out.
