    Hey all,
I'm new to the forum and new to bow-hunting. I've wanted to do it for years. I live in the great Pacific NW, but have spent my entire adult life "playing Army" and hopping across the pond in support of GWOT, both as a soldier and a contractor. Now that all that's behind me I want to start up some of these things called "hobbies" I've heard civilians are supposed to have. I figured bow hunting is a good place to start. I have elk pretty much walking in my back yard a couple of times a week, and I'm smart enough to know I need help.
I got me a bow, some arrows and I've been practicing with my broad heads for about a year. I feel comfortable out to about 50 yards right now and that should be enough for the cows that come up on the property. ;)
Here are some pics of the elk and my humble set up. I bought it used from a guy at the archery range.

What area do you hunt? My brother moved to Leavenworth and is looking for public land to track down some elk.
