I barely remember the guys I was on a team with ... very few of us ever talk .... MNPurple is one I remember cuz I thought he was black and we laughed about my misconception ... so I don't feel ya, LC...

but it really doesn't matter to me as we will repeat again next year :ninja:

I just thought it was a good idea ... apparently I am in the minority :D

Not on a team so no Dog in the hunt. But want to be next year. There ought to be something said about coming in first so they should be the only ones that are able to stay together.

    Sorry PT

Also on the getting know each other thread wouldn't that be better accomplished by everyone switching each year so you get to know new people. just my .02

I was once on a team with Dan and dukemichaels two years in a row, by coincidence.

    It was awful.

Guess not. Sometimes, with time, the fine line between a "team" and a "clique" can be difficult to see and easy to cross.

    Good luck with that. :tu:

I haven't participated in the contest yet but I believe there should be new teams every year. It will give all of us the opportunity to get to know even more people rather than everyone being in little "clicks" for lack of a better word. It also makes it more interesting....

How are teams selected again? Is it completely at random or are there other factors? Point being stack a bunch of good hunters on a team from the Midwest and I am not sure they could be beaten unless they didn't hunt......

Well this is interesting. People want the teams split up every year, and it appears its due to the behavior of some members of last year's champs.

I do enjoy a good shooting of the foot.

This reminds me of the moms voting for every little leaguer to receive a trophy for their efforts.

Only the top team should be rewarded.

I also don't buy that a midwest team is guaranteed to win. It ALL comes down to killing does. Put down 7-8 bucks out of 10 from any corner of the country and all 10 of you kill a doe and your team WILL win the contest. I'd bet good money on it.

I can see where you are coming from on the "little leaguer" thing. At the same time this isn't about $$$ or prizes.

If thats the case lets put together a draft and pick our teams. I'll pick on iHunt just cause he is close to me. Him and I together would have already scored well over 400 combined..... iHunt??? You game for next year? lol!

I voted new teams every year. I am new to this forum, so I have would know about any cliques but I think teams can score because of location, deer population and opportunities, therefore if you get the right people together they can score large numbers each year. It appears at this time that Team 6 could be in this category, since they already are scoring large. Oh, at this time I am on the second place team.

2nd place is 1st losers. If the luck of the draw puts together a team that has better hunting conditions than others, it still comes down to luck of the draw.

I don't really care who's on what team really. I would like to see a minimum post count for those that join, however.

Sorry Folks this is all my fault. I was in the stand tonight and text Tony telling him that the spike buck with a broke leg was 70 yards out. If he came close enough I was considering popping him to end his misery. Unfortunate for Tony when I closed my phone I hit the off button.

When I got down at dark I had 4 text from Tony stating "well?".

So this all my fault.............Tony was afraid I was shooting the spike and I did not respond, hence he had to find something to occupy his time. Once again I am sorry))).

Tony..............leave these poor folks alone fool)))))
