Any body got any good ideas how to keep your seats dry on your stand? I normally pull my seats and carry them back to my hunting box, but I would like to leave them out on the stand.
I started bringing a little pad with me every time I go out. That way I know I always have a dry seat and I also noticed it also helps retain some heat
I have a couple of those seat covers. They don't seem to be waterproof so I quit using them. Thinking of the garbage bag thing now. Black would work if I can't find camo.
From past experience covering chairs in our rifle stands. Critters would get inside of black garbage bags and build nests, but they don't seem to with clear or opaque bags.
Spray them down really well with a water proofer then hang them on a equipment hook or from a branch. That way if it rains the water runs off for the most part. Then just take a small towel to wipe it down to remove exterior dampness. Repeat water proofing yearly. Less noise than plastic bags and scent usually clears after a few days so spray them during the summer or a couple weeks before season.
I carry a Heat Seat Cushion in my pack. It goes on a Frosty stand seat, and keeps your behind toasty.
always turn mine skinny side up and leave, I also hang them when I can find branch end, I hate plastic in and around my stands
