    now seems like a good time to start this. each year my buddies and i try and keep track of how much $$$$ we spend each hunting season. doesnt matter on what. any green going

    towards hunting we keep track. i'd like to lie and say each year it gets less cause i have all the hunting stuff i need, but it never works out that way. just a little thing i like

    to keep track of... (gas, food, gear, tags, butcher, taxidermy etc.) i'll try and post something in Jan and we can compare... here are my last 3 years (we round to the nearest $100)

    ME: biggest item deer/no deer
    2008 = $2,500 - Wisconsin (un-filled) tag & new binocs no deer
    2007 = $2,700 - mount 10pt-er
    2006 = $3,000 - new bow spike & doe

    guess mine has gotten less:confused:

    My main expenses are gas, tolls, licenses, and club dues. I'll spend close to $1000 on everything this year and that include new boots, arrows, and broadheads. Licenses for VA(res), MD(non res), and NC(non res) make up $350 of the total, that sucks.

    I haven't spent anything on me yet, but several hundred on the boys already. Still have to buy them BH's, get permits, licenses, etc.

    I honestly don't want to know... :cry:

    Somehow... I'm pretty sure this year is going to exceed last year's expenses. :D

    With my wife being un-employed, this year more than ever. I bought some arrows that were on sale, I was sharping broadheads last night. I plan on spending very little this year. I am buying a Muddy stand and stix and that is it for me.

    I'm afraid my wife might get on here and see exactly how much I've spent. I'd rather that info stay in my head. :bash:

    this year my hunting expenditures should be reasonable... apart from the new bow (though the net cost from selling old bow makes it pretty fair) the only major purchases I'm making is a new climber and arrow rest, a few small ticket items like tools and consumables like vanes, glue, broadheads... probably be into the season in the ball park of about 1500 including tags and etc...

    This year is going to suck. I've already dropped nearly two grand on a two week hunting trip and I havent bought everything yet. Gear wise would top 1 grand for all the gear needed for that trip as well(but I admit, gear can atleast be reused especially when you buy quality).

    I'm in college and what money I have goes towards hunting. I probably spend $3-4k a year on hunting when you total in gas, extra meals away from home, etc.

    I just view it as, this is what I love to do and my money could be blown on MUCH worse hobbies. My best friend just spent $900 on a sound system for his SUV. Another friend just spent $2k on a seadoo. Several friends drop a few hundred bucks atleast twice a month traveling around to MLB games. That stuff, while fun, isn't my interests.

    Uhhh... If I kept track it may push me to do something drastic when I saw the totals at the end of the year. I just write it off as money that I didn't give to a psychiatrist and call it good at that!
