I am thinking about heading to Kansas next year to do some whitetail hunting. Any suggestions on what part of state to go? I am thinking bout the northeast section. Might try to find public land there cuz all the outfitters I have checked out are pretty steep w/ their prices.

I did some turkey hunting this past spring in the Manhattan area. There is good public land available and I saw some big bodied deer while I was up there. Keep in mind Kansas requires Bowhunter ed.

I'd check out either up north in the Johnson County area or even the South-Central area.

Sounds good guys. I will check out those areas. And I had no clue they required bow-ed class. Will check out local conservation and look into taking that.

Actually Greg, Kansas dropped that requirement. It used to be required for 12-13yr olds, but now as long as you have hunter education of some type you are exempt from BHE.

There are some excellent public lands in Kansas...

Wow, I just took my IBEP instructor course in June and it is still on the required list. I'm going to call my region office and ask.

I stand corrected. Instructor material has not been updated lately. Thanks Dustin.
