My mom was in the big deer stand this evening just watching deer and she saw a good buck chasing a doe and pushing her pretty hard.

There was a buck shot in Coffey County on Friday that unofficially netted 187.

I don't want to post the final picture for privacy, but hear is a trail cam shot of the buck. ethanbuck.jpg

No it was not. I don't know the guy who shot it very well, but that trail cam picture was off of my roommates camera.

He was going home to hunt the deer Friday only to find out it was shot Friday morning! Poor guy!

Checked a cam at noon today and saw a buck with his head down cruising on the edge of a cut corn field.

I'm headed to Hays Kansas for a rifle hunt. I'm leaving florida on Sunday and driving up. We will be hunting from our ground blinds and I will also be bringing a climber stand. Have any of you guys hunted near here? If so any tips? I have never seen the property so I'm going in blind. I will have one day to scout. Can't wait!

Is it going to take you four days to get hear? Rifle season doesn't start until the 4th! :tu:

Maybe you have family here or are arriving early to scout.

Yeah we got out early to scout. Had a great hunt I wasn't able to get a good buck in front of me but my girlfriend shot a really nice ten point. IMAG1301.jpg IMAG1303.jpg We only had 200 acres to hunt and an oil company was replacing one of the rigs for the first day and a half. I put her on the farthest end of the property away from all the noise and she did a great job. Man you guys have some heavy bucks!

    Haha, awesome!
We do have great deer, great habitat and KS does a good job on management. KS has really become one of the premier states for Whitetails.

I guess sometimes it just happens this way. You hunt a deer all season, just to have someone else shoot your deer. I was never able to lay eyes on this deer during the archery season, but wouldn't you know it, rifle season opens and my wife is able to wrap her hands around a great deer. I guess being able to take the picture is something. Kansas does have some big deer in places.
