How's the hunting looking for other people in KS? It seems to be a rollercoaster so far this season, lots of ups and downs. Deer seem to be in a mixed up pattern. See good sign but not as many deer as Usaually do for this time of the year. Has anybody found any EHD in there area? Stationed at Fort Riley.

I have only heard of two bucks that died from EHD around my area (Manhattan), but there very well could be many more I didn't hear about. I haven't been hunting as much as I was early season due to school, but in still getting pictures of mature bucks on their feet before dark.

I was near Eureka Oct 11 12 13 14 and didn't hear about any dead deer but we did get stroked by mother nature with high winds and war temps also a couple inches of rain. Saw lots of deer but no shooters. Gotta get back there soon.

Stuck a doe 2 weeks ago. Now I'm at school so can't hunt for a bit. When I was home I saw some confused younger bucks chasing around. Nothing big. With these warmer temps I'm hoping for Nov 11 to be about the rut, as that's when I'll be home. What to you guys think?

My buddy grunted in a little buck last night, he came in rubbing trees and looking for the source of the grunts. With this cold weather coming at the end of this week, hopefully things will be moving pretty good. I might be filming my buddy since I already have my buck, but we will see

Several dead deer in NE Kansas (EHD). We have found 3 dead in creeks, no big ones. Last year I had several good bucks on cam and this year nothing! I have a feeling we will find several dead deer shed hunting. This friday and saturday should be some good hunting as the temps drop.

I haven't found any dead deer myself but have heard of quite a few in NE KS due to EHD. What little I have hunted I have seen good movement. Mostly does but if that keeps carrying on the bucks will be moving with them and trying to find starting now. I'm thinking this cold front coming this weekend is going to liven things up pretty well.

One dead deer! Not sure EHD or not but likely...Only been out once and saw two nice bucks and 4 dinks, few does...this was early oct though..never had much luck mid to late oct..in years past I have seen it kick in around the 10th and go through the end of the month. All my bucks have been killed late Nov 21-28th of the month. Good luck this year!

Movement has been pretty consistent here in the southeast part of the state where I hunt. I havent seen any mature 4.5+ year old shooters yet from the tree, but theyre still showing up on cam in daylight. Does and young bucks (1, 2, and 3 year olds) are plentiful as well. On my sits so far I've seen a low of 6 deer and a high of 14. Those are in 3-4 hour sits in the mornings or evenings. I'm getting excited for the rut to kick and get those big boys moving around more. To my knowledge and the hunters I talk to regularly down here, no cases of dead deer due to EHD in this area. Good luck hunting to all.
