Heading up in a 10days to sedan,ks just wondering if the rut is kicking in out that way? Seems like other states near by are picking up and deer are already in full out rut in some. The Kansas threads have been pretty quite on the rut. Anyone see signs and when you think its really going to be HOT? Cant wait to get up there for 5 days.

KS? We don't have any deer in KS...someone must be playing a bad joke on you dude. I once saw a little doe over here but she just migrated from MO and then went back.

LOL, yes they are chasing and starting to hit it pretty hard here like everywhere else. I saw a nice buck chasing a doe the other evening. That buck would have came right down the fence row to me had it not been for that doe walking into the field right to the buck so she was looking for him as much as he was for her I think. Good luck when you get up to KS.

One of the land owners who's ground I hunt works for the Kansas department of roads just across the border from me. He said there has been an uptick in dead deer on the highways. Happens every year during the rut.

Good luck to those coming to KS. I had my first sit tonight, I'm hunting in Woodson county. Had some younger bucks chasing does and hitting scrapes. Saw a couple does still hanging with fawns. Things are definitely ramping up. Looks like a cold front is coming in Friday, I'll be in a tree.
