Any familiar with hunting public land in Kansas? What part and what is the harvest ratio per hunts and seeing deer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think that's kind of a loaded question. I think that all depends how much scouting & prep work you do pre-season. Not all people have the same experience hunting public ground. From a personal experience I rarely ever don't see deer.
I hunted central Kansas in November. 5 days in the stand daylight to dark and saw 7 deer. Last year I hunted 7 full days and saw 9 deer. This area was hammered by EHD last year so I was not surprised either year. I don't expect improvement for several years. I agree with Tacklebox!

So I guess I'm a little confused on how the gun and archery permits work in Kansas. What it sounds like to me is if you want to bow hunt from opening day of bow season you can not get a firearm permit for that year. And if you choose to get a firearm permit you can not hunt with a bow prior to opening day of firearm. Now this is what I need help with. Can you hunt with a bow after firearm season if you buy a archery permit? Can you only kill one buck and one doe for in tire season? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes you can hunt with a bow after firearm season if you have an archery permit. You can only kill one buck per year. Not sure if they have additional doe tags or not.
