I am thinking about a 2015 Kansas archery hunt on public land/walk in hunting area. I was wondering what the odds of drawing a tag on my first year applying are? What area's of Kansas do you believe gives me the best opportunity to harvest a whitetail? I noticed that alot of the walk in hunting areas do not open up until Nov. why is this? Any addiitional information would be greatly appreciated.

Many of the walk ins are more geared towards bird hunting. Focusing on some of the other public land would probably be your best bet. Very good chance of drawing your tag as we seem to like to hand out tags to everyone :(
